Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated (JLL) is seeking a Chief / Lead Data Center Engineer for our Charlotte, NC site. The role emphasizes operating, maintaining and optimizing diesel generators, UPS, ATS, switchgear and associated infrastructure in a high-demand data center environment.

Candidates should have a minimum of 10 years in a technical, critical environment with appropriate licenses. The position requires on-site work with 24/7 availability and strong communication skills to interface with

Qualifications

• AAS in engineering or technical area; high school diploma or GED required.
• 10+ years of experience in a technical, critical environment operation.
• Licensed Operating Engineer or equivalent; Universal CFC license.
• Knowledge of SMA, FMA, RPA, or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret design/construction docs for critical sites; update drawings with CRE D&C or PM.
• Operate, maintain and troubleshoot Diesel Generator systems, UPS, ATS, switchgear, breakers, relays.
• Proficient with MS Office and email.
• Strong math, physics and chemistry fundamentals for facilities management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to communicate with customers.
• Ability to perform repairs/maintenance for continuous operation of building infrastructure.
• Knowledge of electrical (UPS, ATS, control/fuel systems) and mechanical (Boilers, Chillers, Pumps) systems.
• Familiarity with fire/life safety, control systems (BMS, CMMS), and digital systems.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain and troubleshoot building infrastructure at a critical site.
• Interpret and update drawings with CRE D&C or project management.
• Coordinate with internal/external teams on electrical/mechanical systems.
• Ensure continuous operation of all building infrastructure.
• Respond to service emergencies and maintain resilience under duress.
