Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated in Charlotte, NC is hiring a Building Engineer for our Critical Environments team. You will maintain and monitor critical building systems including HVAC, electrical, fire/life safety, and water systems to ensure reliable operation and safety.

The role requires hands-on data center experience, EPA 608 certification (or within 90 days), and strong communication with internal teams and contractors. On-site work in Charlotte with competitive benefits is provided.

Qualifications

• Must have hands-on data center/critical facility experience.
• EPA 608 Certification or within 90 days of employment is required.
• Proficient with Word and Excel; strong verbal and written communication.
• Demonstrated customer service experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, monitor and perform preventive maintenance and operation of building systems (fire safety, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, controls).
• Analyze system operation, identify causes of faults and take corrective action.
• Install/repair plumbing, wiring of motors and pumps, air compressors, heat exchangers and piping.
• Operate and maintain electrical controls, UPS, generators, chillers, and boilers; keep accurate logs.
• Oversee contractor activities and ensure safety and compliance.
