Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Senior Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor to lead cost management on large data center projects. You will interface with clients, design teams, and contractors to ensure objectives are met with high quality cost control and value engineering.

The role requires extensive experience in cost planning, estimating, change management, and commercial negotiations, with a proactive, client-facing approach and leadership of project teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field.
• 5–7 years of experience in cost management within construction.
• Experience on medium to large-scale commercial or industrial projects.
• RICS accreditation preferred or working toward.
• Strong cost planning, control, change management, and reporting.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced project environment with multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Estimate and negotiate change orders across the construction lifecycle.
• Provide cost planning, develop, present final cost plans.
• Review design services and GC inputs for cost estimates.
• Reconcile changes and assist GC with data accuracy.
• Prepare cost estimate updates and executive summaries.
• Coordinate all sources of cost information for discussions.
• Inform and drive engineering priorities based on cost impact.
• Lead cost checks, valuations, and post-contract variances.
• Prepare funding data presentations and VE sessions with stakeholders.
• Develop cost plans through design milestones and advise on value engineering.
• Review contractor pricing and negotiate to achieve fair prices.
