Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to build and productionize data and AI solutions for customers using the Databricks platform. You will own the architecture, lead design decisions, and implement end‑to‑end systems spanning data engineering, AI, and application development.

This hands‑on, customer‑facing role requires engineering excellence, adaptability, and strong customer empathy to deliver measurable business value. Travel to customers is expected ~20% of the time.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in data engineering, data platforms, or software engineering.
• Proficient in Python, Scala, or JavaScript/TypeScript with modern frameworks.
• Experience with two or more cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP) and at least one.
• Deep experience with distributed computing using Apache Spark.

Responsibilities

• Lead production‑grade solution delivery and reference architectures.
• Guide transformational big data projects end‑to‑end from design to deployment.
• Embed with customer teams and ensure secure, scalable architectures.
• Collaborate with engineering and support to resolve engagement issues.
