Alba Wheels Up International in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Lead Customs Brokerage Coordinator to support the Customs Brokerage Manager and Team Leader in daily operations, ensuring regulatory compliance and accurate import documentation. Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on Customs Brokerage experience in all modes of transport.
• Mentoring or supervising entry‑level or mid‑level team members.
• Deep understanding of U.S. Customs regulations, HTS classification, and PGA requirements.
• CargoWise experience is a strong plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day support to the Customs Brokerage Manager and Team Leader in executing and monitoring import activities
• Performs other related duties and projects as requested or assigned by the manager
• Assist the team with creating Organizations in CargoWise
• Support team members in troubleshooting CargoWise-related issues and provide insights for process improvements
• Liaison between the team and accounting for payments and disputes
• Assist the team with additional billing and accounting-related topics
• Perform duties under general supervision and report any issues that arise to the manager
• Processing Customs brokerage for air and ocean shipments of various import-related documentation for submission to U.S. Customs and PGA’s (participating Government Agencies)
• Answer both customer inquiries and inter-company inquiries
• Assist with monitoring shipment progress through the CargoWise Visual Board, ensuring that all statuses and milestones are updated accurately and promptly.
• Perform any other related duties and projects as requested or assigned by the Customs Brokerage Manager and/or Supervisors.

Experience Required

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years of hands-on Customs Brokerage experience in all modes of transport.
• Demonstrated experience managing or mentoring entry-level or mid-level team members.
• Deep understanding of U.S. Customs regulations, HTS classification, and PGA requirements.
• Customs Broker License (LCB) preferred but not required.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills; approachable, collaborative, and accountable.
• High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
• Familiarity with digital customs software; experience with CargoWise is a strong plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and general comfort with digital platforms.
