Job summary

Harford County Public Schools in Bel Air, MD is seeking a Chief Custodian – Level IV at Bel Air High School for a full-time, twelve-month assignment at a Grade 4 level.

You will organize, supervise custodial staff, maintain boilers and HVAC, ensure safety, and coordinate with Facilities Management. Requires Fourth Grade Stationary Engineer’s license and pesticide certification.

Salary ranges from $58,199 to $81,805 with benefits; starting on Step 1 for new entrants.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in a custodial, mechanical, or related trade.
• Minimum two years supervisory experience as a Chief Custodian or equivalent.
• Must hold and have maintained a Fourth Grade Stationary Engineer’s License issued by the Maryland State Board of Stationary Engineers.
• Attend pesticide application training with HCPS facilities and maintain a pesticide certification applicator card.

Responsibilities

• Maintains knowledge of boilers, HVAC systems.
• Supervises custodial staff and coordinates after-school activities.
• Inspects and ensures safety, sanitation and security standards.
