Job summary

Baltimore City Public Schools is seeking a capable custodian supervisor to organize and coordinate custodial operations across a school facility. You will maintain boilers, HVAC systems and assist with on-the-job training, safety, and preventive maintenance to ensure clean, safe learning environments.

The role requires a Fourth Grade Stationary Engineer's License within six months, six months pesticide certification, and the ability to supervise a team, manage supplies, and respond to

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in a custodial, mechanical, or related trade.
• Working knowledge of carpentry, electrical, and plumbing trades.
• Fourth Grade Stationary Engineer's License within six months of hire.
• Attend pesticide application training and maintain certification.
• Valid driver's license may be required to perform duties.
• Physically able to perform essential functions with or without accommodations.
• Ability to supervise and provide clear directions to staff.

Responsibilities

• Maintains boiler, HVAC systems, and related equipment.
• Supervises custodians and coordinates cleaning and maintenance tasks.
• Performs preventive maintenance and minor repairs; notes fuel usage.
• Maintains records and uses CMMS to monitor work orders.
• Inspects facility for safety, leaks, pests, and equipment condition.
• Responds to weather-related issues and assists during emergencies.
• Assists with event setup, deliveries, and inventory management.
