Job summary

The DM Burr Group is seeking a Full Time Lead Custodian for the 1st shift at Reed City Schools, Monday through Friday, 6:00am to 2:30pm. Wage is $17.75/hour with a $200 hiring bonus after 90 days. DailyPay service is available to allow you to get paid quickly.

You will operate cleaning equipment, perform routine maintenance, and ensure clean, safe facilities while following logs and supervisor instructions. A high school diploma or GED and up to 6 months of custodial experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma, GED or technical school certification.
• 0-6 months custodial/janitorial experience using floor scrubbers, buffers, stripping machines.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and follow label instructions on cleaning products.

Responsibilities

• Use approved methods and materials in cleaning and caring for assigned facility.
• Operate and maintain equipment such as auto floor scrubbers, burnishing buffers, stripping machines and vacuums.
• Sweep, vacuum, mop, scrub and polish floors using industrial machines.
• Empty trash receptacles and clean restrooms and break rooms.
• Record and document cleaning activities on logs and report to supervisor.
• Perform light building maintenance and safety reporting; snow removal and lawn tasks as needed.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Use approved methods and materials in cleaning and caring for assigned facility.
• Operate and maintain equipment such as; auto floor scrubbers, burnishing buffers, stripping machines and vacuums.
• Sweep, vacuum, mop, scrub and polish floors using industrial vacuum cleaners and scrubbing and buffing machines.
• Empty trash receptacles.
• May remove stains from such surfaces as rugs, drapes, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions.
• General cleaning furniture, window sills, and walls.
• Dust, wash walls, clean ceilings, and polish light fixtures.
• Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates and equipment.
• Clean/stock all restroom, janitorial closet and break rooms.
• Record and document all cleaning functions on appropriate logs and report to Supervisor.
• Perform light building maintenance duties as needed.
• Report any major safety item for repair.
• Snow removal on sidewalks
• Mowing courtyards and weeding
• Work order completion
• Filter changes
• Exterior cleanup
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

• Education: High school diploma, GED or technical school certification
• Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• 0-6 months custodial/ janitorial experience using floor scrubbers, buffers, stripping machines.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Requires the ability to read and follow label instructions on cleaning supplies
• Ability to follow basic verbal & written instructions.
• Ability to pay close attention to detail.
• Must have team aptitude and approach.
