The DM Burr Group is hiring a Full Time Lead Custodian for the 2nd shift at Countryside Academy in Benton Harbor, MI. You will oversee custodial staff, schedule work, and ensure cleaning standards are met.

Requirements include custodial experience, GED/HS diploma, ability to lift 40 lbs, pass a background check, and a valid driver's license. We offer benefits, a new hire bonus, and a stable schedule.

Qualifications

• Custodial/janitorial experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Able to stand long periods and lift up to 40 lbs.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Pass a criminal background check.
• Able to work with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee custodial staff assigned to the school building.
• Schedule work assignments and direct the custodians.
• Use approved cleaning methods and materials for the facility.
• Dust, vacuum, sweep and mop.
• Operate floor equipment (scrubbers and vacuums).
• Empty trash and maintain restrooms and break rooms.
• Set up/clean after events and perform light maintenance.
• Assist with snow removal/lawn care as needed.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assist with overseeing and directing custodial staff assigned to the school building.
• Coordinate activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and directing the work of custodians.
• Use approved methods and materials in cleaning and caring for assigned facility
• Dusting, vacuuming, sweeping and mopping
• Operate floor equipment such as; auto floor scrubbers and vacuums
• Empty trash receptacles
• General cleaning of furniture, windows, window sills, and walls
• Stocking restrooms, janitorial closets and break rooms
• Setting up and cleaning up after scheduled events
• Light building maintenance
• General snow removal/lawn care as needed

Position Requirements

• Previous custodial/ janitorial experience.
• GED/High School Diploma
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Ability to follow basic verbal and written instructions.
