Job summary

DM Burr Group is hiring a Full Time Lead Custodian for the 1st shift in Battle Creek, within the Harper Creek School District. Schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, with a wage of $17.00/hour. DailyPay is available for immediate earnings.

The role involves equipment operation, routine cleaning, and basic maintenance across facilities, ensuring a safe, clean environment for occupants. Training and consistent schedules are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or technical school certification.
• 0–6 months custodial/janitorial experience using floor scrubbers, buffers, stripping machines.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Ability to read and follow label instructions on cleaning supplies.
• Ability to follow basic verbal & written instructions.
• Attention to detail and team aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Use approved methods and materials in cleaning and caring for assigned facility.
• Operate and maintain equipment such as floor scrubbers, buffers, stripping machines and vacuums.
• Sweep, vacuum, mop, scrub and polish floors.
• Empty trash receptacles.
• Clean/stock all restrooms, janitorial closet and break rooms.
• Record and document cleaning functions on logs and report to Supervisor.
• Perform light building maintenance duties as needed.
• Snow removal on sidewalks; mowing courtyards and weeding.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Use approved methods and materials in cleaning and caring for assigned facility.
• Operate and maintain equipment such as; auto floor scrubbers, burnishing buffers, stripping machines and vacuums.
• Sweep, vacuum, mop, scrub and polish floors using industrial vacuum cleaners and scrubbing and buffing machines.
• Empty trash receptacles.
• May remove stains from such surfaces as rugs, drapes, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions.
• General cleaning furniture, window sills, and walls.
• Dust, wash walls, clean ceilings, and polish light fixtures.
• Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates and equipment.
• Clean/stock all restroom, janitorial closet and break rooms.
• Record and document all cleaning functions on appropriate logs and report to Supervisor.
• Perform light building maintenance duties as needed.
• Report any major safety item for repair.
• Snow removal on sidewalks
• Mowing courtyards and weeding
• Work order completion
• Filter changes
• Exterior cleanup
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

• Education: High school diploma, GED or technical school certification
• Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• 0-6 months custodial/ janitorial experience using floor scrubbers, buffers, stripping machines.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Requires the ability to read and follow label instructions on cleaning supplies
• Ability to follow basic verbal & written instructions.
• Ability to pay close attention to detail.
• Must have team aptitude and approach.
