Job summary

The DM Burr Group is seeking a Full Time Custodian – 2nd Shift in Ann Arbor, MI (Washtenaw ISD). Schedule: Mon–Fri, 3:00pm–11:30pm. Wage: $17.00/hour. DailyPay is available, with a $200 hiring bonus after 90 days.

Responsibilities include cleaning with approved methods, operating floor care equipment, vacuuming, mopping, trash removal, stain treatment, and basic maintenance. Requires HS diploma or GED, ability to lift 40 lbs, read labels, and follow instructions; team-oriented and self-motivated.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or technical school certification.
• Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Read and follow label instructions on cleaning supplies.
• Follow basic verbal and written instructions.
• Team-oriented approach.

Responsibilities

• Clean and care for assigned facilities using approved methods and materials.
• Operate floor cleaning equipment (scrubbers, buffers, stripping machines, vacuums).
• Sweep, vacuum, mop, scrub and polish floors.
• Empty trash and clean restrooms and break rooms.
• Move furniture and equipment for cleaning; report safety repairs.

Scheduled: Monday through Friday, 3:00pm to 11:30pm in the Washtenaw Intermediate School District in Ann Arbor, MI.

Wage: $17.00/hour

Primary Responsibilities:

• Use approved methods and materials in cleaning and caring for assigned facility.
• Operate and maintain equipment such as; auto floor scrubbers, burnishing buffers, stripping machines and vacuums.
• Sweep, vacuum, mop, scrub and polish floors using industrial vacuum cleaners and scrubbing and buffing machines.
• Empty trash receptacles.
• May remove stains from such surfaces as rugs, drapes, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions.
• General cleaning furniture, window sills, and walls.
• Dust, wash walls, clean ceilings, and polish light fixtures.
• Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates and equipment to clean areas.
• Clean/stock all restroom, janitorial closet and break rooms.
• Record and document all cleaning functions on appropriate logs and report to Supervisor.
• Perform light building maintenance duties as needed.
• Report any major safety item for repair.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

• Education: High school diploma, GED or technical school certification
• Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• 0-6 months custodial/ janitorial experience using floor scrubbers, buffers, stripping machines.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Requires the ability to read and follow label instructions on cleaning supplies
• Ability to follow basic verbal & written instructions.
• Ability to pay close attention to detail.
• Must have team aptitude and approach.
