Job summary

DM Burr Group is seeking a Full Time Lead Custodian for the 2nd shift at Countryside Academy in Benton Harbor, MI. The role oversees custodial staff, coordinates daily cleaning schedules, and ensures high standards of cleanliness and safety across the site.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and direct custodial staff at the school building.
• Schedule work assignments and set priorities.
• Utilize approved cleaning methods and materials.
• Dust, vacuum, sweep, and mop assigned areas.
• Operate floor equipment such as auto scrubbers and vacuums.
• Empty trash and clean furniture, windows, walls.
• Stock restrooms and janitorial closets.
• Set up and clean after events.
• Provide light building maintenance.
• Assist with snow removal and lawn care as needed.
• Coordinate with building management to ensure safety.

Position Available:

Full Time Lead Custodian - 2nd Shift

Scheduled

Monday through Friday, 3:00pm to 11:30pm at Countryside Academy in Benton Harbor, MI.

Wage:

$17.00/hour

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist with overseeing and directing custodial staff assigned to the school building.
• Coordinate activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and directing the work of custodians.
• Use approved methods and materials in cleaning and caring for assigned facility
• Dusting, vacuuming, sweeping and mopping
• Operate floor equipment such as; auto floor scrubbers and vacuums
• Empty trash receptacles
• General cleaning of furniture, windows, window sills, and walls
• Stocking restrooms, janitorial closets and break rooms
• Setting up and cleaning up after scheduled events
• Light building maintenance
• General snow removal/lawn care as needed

Position Requirements:

• Previous custodial/ janitorial experience.
• GED/High School Diploma
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Ability to follow basic verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check.
• Must have valid driver’s license.
• Must have good communication and customer service skills
