Job summary

St. David’s North Austin Medical Center is seeking a Lead CT Technologist to oversee day-to-day CT operations, ensure high-quality scans, and maintain compliance with regulations. The role requires managing workflow across neonatal to geriatric patients while coordinating with radiologists.

The ideal candidate has extensive CT experience, required MRT and ARRT certifications, and BLS. This position emphasizes safety, efficiency, and maintaining department standards within a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Three years’ experience performing CT Technologist procedures in an acute care setting
• Five years’ experience as a CT Technologist with supervisory experience - preferred
• Graduate from an accredited approved program in Radiologic Technology
• Completion of courses in computed tomography (CT) and cross-sectional anatomy
• Current Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) certification with Texas Medical Board (TMB)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Certified in Radiology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT (R))
• Certified in CT by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT (CT))

Responsibilities

• Consistently produce scans of optimal diagnostic quality from neonatal to geriatric patients
• Follow established scanning and viewing protocols
• Operate CT scanner and X-ray equipment efficiently
• Complete quality scans in a timely manner and meet STAT/urgent demands
• Demonstrate proficiency in scanning trauma and challenging patients
• Label images accurately and document in Meditech
• Review orders and patient records for allergies and pregnancy before exams
• Convey related information to Radiologist when possible

Education

Graduate from an accredited approved program in Radiologic Technology

Courses in CT and cross-sectional anatomy

MRT certification with Texas Medical Board

BLS certification

ARRT (R) Radiology

ARRT (CT) CT certification

Supervisory experience (preferred)

Three years CT experience in acute care

Five years CT with supervisory experience (preferred)
