Job summary

The UAB Division of Community Anesthesia seeks a lead CRNA to coordinate anesthesia services across diverse surgical procedures and diagnostics, under the direction of an anesthesiologist. This role emphasizes autonomy, collaboration with surgeons, and clinical instruction of nurse anesthesia students.

Based at UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham campus, the division supports 50,000+ procedures annually across 53 ORs, offering opportunities to become proficient in multiple anesthesia subspecialties.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Nurse Anesthesia Program.
• Two (2) years of related experience required.
• Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.

Responsibilities

• Provides anesthesia leadership and coordination under the direction of an anesthesiologist for diverse procedures.
• Participates in clinical instruction of nurse anesthesia students.
• Acts as a clinical resource and mentor to staff and students.
• Leads daily operations and ensures adequate staff coverage; communicates workload assignments.
