Job summary

UAB Medicine’s Division of Community Anesthesia seeks a lead clinician to coordinate anesthesia services across diverse surgical procedures. The role includes directing anesthesia care with anesthesiologists, and providing clinical instruction to nurse anesthesia students at UAB St.

Vincent’s facilities. You will lead daily operations, ensure staffing coverage, and mentor allied health staff and students while collaborating with surgeons and anesthesiologists in a busy academic and community

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Nurse Anesthesia Program and two years of related experience required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates anesthesia services under the direction of an anesthesiologist for diverse surgical procedures and diagnostic tests.
• Act as a clinical resource and participate in clinical instruction of nurse anesthesia students.
• Lead daily operations and ensure adequate staff coverage with effective delegation and performance feedback.
• Mentor and coach allied health personnel and student nurse anesthetists.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
