The ideal candidate has leadership experience, strong organizational skills, and knowledge of food safety protocols, with the ability to manage a team in a high-demand environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree preferred.
• At least 2-3 years of experience in food service, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Previous experience in a correctional food service environment is highly desirable.
• Certifications such as ServSafe Food Safety Certification and First Aid/CPR are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee preparation and production of meals for inmates, ensuring nutrition and portion control.
• Supervise, train, and evaluate kitchen staff; assign tasks based on skills and needs.
• Monitor inventory levels and maintain accurate records of purchases and usage.
• Enforce food safety regulations and sanitation for equipment, storage, and dining areas.
• Coordinate meal times and ensure timely distribution while meeting dietary requirements.
• Maintain documentation on food production, staffing, inventory, and safety inspections.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and coordinate with facility management.
