Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Adult Correction is seeking a Food Service Supervisor II to oversee correctional food service staff and offenders in large-scale operations at a multi-level custody facility.

Reporting to the Correctional Food Service Manager III, you will supervise daily meal production, utilize computerized nutrition systems, and manage procurement, sanitation, and record-keeping across all phases of food service.

Qualifications

• Documented knowledge in sanitation, preparing menus, managing inventory, and/or other large-scale food service production activities.
• Documented knowledge in supervision of employees and/or offender workers.

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff and offenders in the preparation and serving of food to the offender population.
• Use a computerized food and nutrition system to prepare and serve daily meals.
• Perform responsibilities in all phases of food management, food procurement and storage, menu planning for substitutions, food preparation and service, sanitation, and record keeping.
• Make adjustments in feeding schedules and special diets which result from moderate shifts in offender populations.
• Work independently and under limited supervision with the ability to comprehend/abide by policy, post orders, standard operating procedures, emergency plans, and other directives governing daily activities.
• Ensure food management operations and work performance through inspections and analysis of reports.
