Job summary

Fitchburg Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a seasoned kitchen leader to coordinate menus, train cooks, and supervise the dietary team. You will prepare meals, ensure high quality and attractive presentation, and manage food costs and inventory.

Work with a Registered Dietitian to meet residents' clinical health needs, maintain sanitation standards, and hire/train staff to deliver excellent dining experiences in a resident-focused setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Formal culinary training completion is required.
• 3+ years experience cooking in high-volume settings and 3+ years supervising ≥5 staff.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates menus and directs training of cooks and kitchen staff with the Registered Dietitian.
• Prepares meals, cooks, and serves while maintaining quality and appearance.
• Manages cost containment, inventory, and ordering of food and supplies.
• Maintains kitchen and food safety standards per County/State requirements.
• Ensures sanitation and cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas.
• Hires, trains, supervises, and orients dietary department employees; counsels when necessary.
• Works with the Registered Dietitian to meet clinical health requirements for residents.
