Job summary

Fitchburg Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a full-time kitchen supervisor to lead food service operations for residents, families, and staff. You will direct cooks, train dietary staff, and ensure meals meet quality and safety standards in collaboration with the Registered Dietitian.

The role includes overseeing cost control, inventory, and compliance with health requirements, with a weekend rotation as needed. Prior supervisory experience is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Formal culinary training completed.
• Experience in-line cooking for 3+ years in high-volume settings and supervising teams.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates menus and directs training of cooks and kitchen staff with interdisciplinary team.
• Prepares meals, cooks, and serves food maintaining quality and appearance.
• Manages cost containment, inventory, and ordering of food and supplies.
• Maintains kitchen and food safety standards per county/state requirements.
• Oversees staffing: hires, trains, supervises, orients dietary department staff.
• Collaborates with Registered Dietitian to meet residents' clinical health needs.

Duties andResponsibilities:

• Coordinates menus and directs the training of cooks and other kitchen workers engaged in preparing and cooking foods to ensure an efficient and satisfactory food service by working with the Registered Dietitian and interdisciplinary team.

• Prepares meals, cooks and serves food while maintaining a high standard of quality and appearance

• Manages cost containment, inventory, and ordering of food and supplies

• Maintains kitchen and food safety standards according to County and State requirements

• Food service certification and safeserve certification

• Responsible for overall kitchen and dining room sanitation and cleanliness

• Hires, trains, supervises and orients dietary department employees and counsels when necessary

• Works with Registered Dietitian to meet the clinical requirements for the health of our residents

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)

• Successful completion of a formal culinary training program.

• Experience in-line cooking for 3 plus years in medium to high volume restaurant (100 plus people) and 3 plus years supervising a minimum of 5 employees.
