Job summary

The Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) is seeking a Cook 2 to lead nutritional programming and direct kitchen operations at the Juvenile Rehabilitation site in Snoqualmie, WA. You will oversee meal preparation, ensure meals meet nutrition standards, and train youth and staff in food safety and service.

Responsibilities include supervising across shifts, maintaining inventory, following recipes, and ensuring equipment safety in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Two years cooking experience in large-scale food service or culinary operation.
• Completion of a course in large-scale cooking may substitute for one year of experience.
• A current Food Worker card required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee meal preparation and service across shifts.
• Supervise, delegate, and instruct food preparation duties.
• Teach culinary skills to youth and mentor other staff.
• Ensure food safety, proper temperatures, and inventory control.
