Job summary

Oregon Youth Authority (OYA) is seeking a dedicated and skilled Cook to join the Oak Creek Youth Correctional Facility team in Albany, Oregon. The Temp Cook will prepare nutritious, balanced meals for youth, ensure dietary requirements are met, and uphold high food safety standards.

You will supervise and train youth in cooking and kitchen tasks while maintaining records of meal inventories and managing kitchen resources.

Qualifications

• One year of experience as a cook in a food service facility OR a Certificate of Completion in culinary arts and/or Foods and Hospitality Service from a certified community college or technical school.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and trains youth in custody in the preparation of meals, food safety and sanitation practices and usage of kitchen tools and equipment.
• Cooks independently while preparing meals from OYA menus and standardized recipes.
• Performs daily cooking tasks and meal preparations using a variety of kitchen equipment.
