Qualifications

• Completion of eighth grade or equivalent work experience.
• One year of related work experience or a combination of the two.
• Ability to pass an extensive background investigation and mandatory drug testing.

Responsibilities

• Receives, checks, stores, retherms, prepares and serves nutritional meals, snacks, sack lunches, bulk and special meals.
• Cleans, organizes, sanitizes kitchen, storage, cafeteria and immediate grounds areas in compliance with applicable rules and policies.
• In absence of Lead Cook, orders, checks and maintains staple grocery, produce and other items to ensure adequate inventory and documents shortages or invoice discrepancies.
• Assists in training, monitoring and maintaining security of assigned juvenile residents and ensures safety and sanitation requirements are followed.
• Coordinates timely transport of meals to other sites and resolves issues with shortages or unusable meals; documents serious problems.
• Other duties as assigned
