Salary:$39,036 - $51,600 Yearly. The salary does not include an additional 5% premium granted to all King County employees, or a 5% on-site 24/7 facility premium.
Join the dedicated Food Services team at Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) Juvenile Rehabilitation, where your work directly supports the health, well-being, and daily success of young people in our care. Food Service Workers collaborate closely with cooks, supervisors, and other facility staff to prepare and serve nutritious meals while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized kitchen.
This is a fast-paced, team-oriented environment where reliability, communication, and attention to food safety are highly valued. The position is located at Echo Glen Children’s Center in Snoqualmie, Washington, in a secure residential setting surrounded by a scenic, wooded environment. Work schedules may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on operational needs. The Opportunity: You will provide nutritious meals to youth and staff in accordance with Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) standards. The Food Service Worker plays a crucial role in maintaining kitchen operations and cleanliness, supporting the team, and ensuing meal service runs smoothly. In addition, the role involves teaching youth culinary skills and modeling strong work ethics. These skills help prepare youth for a successful transition back into the community and support their overall rehabilitation.

Required qualifications: Experience or knowledge of kitchen and dining operations, including food handling, hygiene, sanitation, safety procedures, and proper use of kitchen equipment and utensils.
