Job summary

Bluestar Resort & Golf in Queen Creek, AZ is seeking a Cook 4 to join our Food & Beverage team. The role involves food preparation, cooking, and serving, reporting to the Kitchen Manager or Executive Chef.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, at least three years of cooking in a commercial kitchen, and a current Food Handlers card. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends and a commitment to guest satisfaction are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of three years cooking experience in a commercial kitchen.
• Current Food Handlers card.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or team members.
• Ability to think, work, solve practical problems, and make independent decisions.
• Must demonstrate initiative and accept responsibility for decisions and actions.
• Must be self-motivated, proactive, and a team player.
• Must pay attention to multiple details and work in a fast-paced environment with continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Master all kitchen stations, including plating and expeditor.
• Teach new staff their station assignments and recipes.
• Cross-train staff to cook different stations.
• Plate all dishes to standard; manage ticket times and food quality.
• Assist management with developing weekly and daily specials.
• Ensure superior service meets guest and employee expectations.
• Lead cleaning schedule to maintain sanitary conditions.
• Assist with monitoring food preparation and cooking techniques; read recipes.
