Job summary

Tigg's Canteen Services Inc is hiring a Permanent Full-Time Lead Cook for Chippewa County Jail in Sault Ste. Marie, MI. The role requires leading meal preparation, following set recipes, and ensuring food safety within a correctional facility.

Starting wage is $21.00 per hour with benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401K and paid time off. Weekend/holiday rotation and varying shifts from 6:00am to 3:00pm apply.

Qualifications

• Ability to work well in a structured correctional environment.
• Ability to read and follow company recipes.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to lead, instruct, and assist with meal preparations including food preparation, baking, cooking, and clean-up.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee meal preparations including cooking, baking and cleanup.
• Train and supervise kitchen staff and volunteers as needed.
• Ensure adherence to recipes and portion controls.
• Maintain high standards of food safety and sanitation.
