Job summary

Tigg's Canteen Services in Sault Ste. Marie, MI is seeking a permanent full-time Lead Cook for Chippewa County Jail. The role requires leadership, integrity, and the ability to work in a structured correctional environment and follow recipes.

You will lead meal preparation, baking, cooking and cleanup, train staff, and ensure food safety standards. Weekend/holiday shifts and early mornings are required; high school diploma preferred; all training provided.

Qualifications

• Must work well in a structured correctional environment.
• Ability to read and follow company recipes.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Lead, instruct, and assist with meal preparations including food preparation, baking, cooking, and clean-up.

Requirements Include

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays on a rotating basis.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts - days and hours (between 6:00am - 3:00pm)
• Clearance approval into the facility

Previous food service or kitchen experience would be a plus, but we can train the right person!

Salary: $21.00 per hour
