Job summary

Mercedes-Benz U.S. International, Inc. (MBUSI) in Alabama seeks a senior controls engineer to lead engineering activities for new vehicle programs and lifecycle initiatives. You will ensure automation readiness and compliance with MBUSI and Mercedes-Benz standards.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field and at least five years of experience with Rockwell platforms; German language skills are a plus and collaboration across global teams is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering/Computer Science, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering or related area.
• Minimum of five (5) years of relevant professional experience.
• Experience required with Rockwell control platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead controls engineering activities for new vehicle introductions, facelifts, and model year changes.
• Evaluate design changes for impact to automation, PLC software, robotics, HMIs, and production processes.
• Coordinate design changes with Process Engineering, Maintenance, Production, IT, and international teams.
• Maintain change documentation and controls implementation schedules.
• Develop and maintain controls requirements and technical specifications for capital projects.
• Coordinate controls integration during equipment installation and commissioning.
• Support PLC software validation, network verification, and process optimization.
• Lead controls issue resolution during launch phases.
