Job summary

Fortune Brands Innovations in Alabama seeks a seasoned Controls Engineer to lead controls projects for Butler Manufacturing Operations. You will design, program, and optimize automated control systems, drafting electrical schematics and managing capital projects from concept to startup.

The role requires 5+ years of manufacturing controls experience and strong proficiency with Rockwell Automation and Allen Bradley PLCs, plus familiarity with Fanuc robotics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) preferred; equivalent professional experience will be considered.
• Minimum of 5 years of Controls Engineering experience.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment; experience with equipment builders or integrators is a plus.
• Proficiency with Rockwell Automation software and Allen Bradley PLC systems.
• Experience with Fanuc Robotics.
• Ability to draft and interpret electrical schematics.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop control systems for automated machinery, including electrical drawings and control specifications.
• Program and optimize control systems, primarily using Allen Bradley PLC platforms.
• Provide technical leadership to maintenance staff to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
• Lead capital projects, manage outside resources and vendors, and oversee installation and startup.
• Identify and implement lean opportunities to drive equipment operating efficiency and ergonomic improvements.
• Modify equipment controls to improve reliability and safety; ensure OSHA compliance.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE)
