Job summary

Körber in Irving, Texas is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer (Team Lead) to guide a controls engineering team in designing, programming, deploying and commissioning PLCs for material handling systems. You will develop GUIs, test software before deployment, troubleshoot on site, and ensure quality with customer requirements.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Electrical/Controls Engineering, 7+ years in the field, leadership experience, and travel up to 40%.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Electrical, Computer or Controls Engineering.
7+ years in material handling or similar industry; master’s may substitute for up to 5 years.
Experience leading controls engineers on large projects; strong supervisory skills.
Experience programming Rockwell GuardLogix and Siemens TIA Portal PLCs.
Ability to interpret electrical schematics and HMI programming.

Responsibilities

Develop control system designs, program PLCs, deploy and commission code and GUIs.
Test software functionality before on-site deployment and perform complex tests.
Troubleshoot PLCs and electrical equipment during installation and commissioning.
Collaborate with Electrical Engineering on control network architecture and device requirements.
Review customer specifications to identify and validate system requirements.
Support estimates for software modules, commissioning activities, and project needs.
Propose productivity improvements to reduce costs and enhance performance.
Travel up to 40% with 10/4 rotations as required.
