Job summary

Körber Supply Chain in the United States seeks a Senior Controls Engineer to design control systems for material handling, code PLCs, and build GUI interfaces. You will drive testing, on-site commissioning, and collaboration with engineering teams to meet project goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Controls Engineering (required).
  • 7 years in material handling or related field (required; master may substitute with 5+ years).
  • Experience with Rockwell Automation PLC programming (GuardLogix) and Siemens TIA Portal (Starter).
  • Experience with Ethernet/IP network architecture.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and perform HMI programming.
  • Proven leadership of controls engineering teams on large projects.
  • Ability to manage project timelines and budgets; troubleshooting background.
  • Willingness to travel up to 70%.

Responsibilities

  • Develop control system designs and PLC code for material handling systems.
  • Test and emulate code before on-site deployment and testing.
  • Troubleshoot PLC code and electrical equipment during commissioning.
  • Collaborate with Electrical Engineering and other disciplines on network architecture.
  • Support Project Manager on scope, schedule, and budget; identify changes and risks.
  • Define electrical device requirements and develop system documentation.
  • Assist with estimates for module development and commissioning needs.
  • Review customer standards and specifications to determine requirements.
  • Provide productivity improvement and cost-reduction recommendations.
  • Lead and mentor other controls engineers.
