Job summary

Gradian in Maple Grove, MN seeks an Experienced Electrical Engineer to design and integrate control systems for air cooling equipment, including AHUs, CRAHs, and DX units. You’ll work under senior staff on controls hardware, software, testing, and documentation, contributing to NPD.

Responsibilities include developing schematics, BOMs, and test procedures; collaborating with multiple engineering teams; and ensuring safety and code compliance while supporting fast-paced development timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 3+ years of professional electrical engineering experience in HVAC or OEM environments.
• Proficiency in electrical CAD software (AutoCAD Electrical preferred).
• Understanding of NEC and instrumentation signals (4–20 mA, 0–10 VDC).
• Ability to create and maintain BOMs; clear written communication.
• Ability to travel up to 10% to Gradian facilities or supplier sites.

Responsibilities

• Support electrical design for power distribution, control panels, sensors, actuators, and VFD/EC interfaces.
• Create and update electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and cable schedules.
• Build and maintain BOMs with documentation and revision updates.
• Support prototype and pilot builds, troubleshoot wiring, and document fixes.
• Contribute to test procedures and O&M documentation; coordinate with teams.
• Collaborate across mechanical, thermal, refrigeration, and controls groups; maintain documentation.
