Job summary

Bosch Charleston is seeking a project lead for software development, PLC programming, and IT infrastructure implementations in automated manufacturing. You will investigate, run trials, and improve processes; set up machines for tests; maintain manufacturing documentation and quality plans; and mentor maintenance staff.

You will lead cross-functional projects to improve safety, cost, quality, and delivery using MES and data analytics, traveling as needed.

Qualifications

BS in Engineering with 3+ years technical experience.
Hands-on with highly automated equipment technologies such as CNC machines, robots, automated axis systems, vision systems, and feeding systems.
Mechanical and electrical hardware design/upgrade experience.
Experience with data analytics tools (PowerBI, Tableau).
Working knowledge of relational databases (MySQL, Microsoft SQL, Oracle) and IT concepts (VMs, networking).
Experience in high-volume/technology manufacturing processes within the automotive industry preferred.
Ability to read and define electric drawings, pneumatic and/or hydraulic plans.
Project leadership and ability to prioritize workload to meet targets; cross-functional teamwork.
Experience with problem solving (Six Sigma, Shainin, 5 whys) and travel for training/projects.

Responsibilities

Project lead for software development, PLC programming and IT infrastructure implementations.
Perform investigations, trials, and improvements in automated manufacturing processes.
Set up machines and devices to prepare investigations as indicated.
Create and maintain manufacturing documentation and quality plans according to company standards.
Identifies and resolves quality issues related to automated equipment.
Mentors hourly skilled associates in proactive maintenance of assigned processes; develops training material.
Lead projects to improve safety, cost, quality, delivery, and utilization of manufacturing processes.
Participate in daily management of area using MES and analytics to meet targets and drive improvement.
