Job summary

Bosch Charleston is seeking a project lead for software development, PLC programming, and IT infrastructure implementations in automated manufacturing. You will investigate, run trials, and improve processes; set up machines for tests; maintain manufacturing documentation and quality plans; and mentor maintenance staff.

You will lead cross-functional projects to improve safety, cost, quality, and delivery using MES and data analytics, traveling as needed.

Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering with 3+ years technical experience.
  • Hands-on with highly automated equipment technologies such as CNC machines, robots, automated axis systems, vision systems, and feeding systems.
  • Mechanical and electrical hardware design/upgrade experience.
  • Experience with data analytics tools (PowerBI, Tableau).
  • Working knowledge of relational databases (MySQL, Microsoft SQL, Oracle) and IT concepts (VMs, networking).
  • Experience in high-volume/technology manufacturing processes within the automotive industry preferred.
  • Ability to read and define electric drawings, pneumatic and/or hydraulic plans.
  • Project leadership and ability to prioritize workload to meet targets; cross-functional teamwork.
  • Experience with problem solving (Six Sigma, Shainin, 5 whys) and travel for training/projects.

Job Description
  • Project lead for software development, PLC programming and IT infrastructure implementations.
  • Perform investigations, trials, and improvements in automated manufacturing processes.
  • Set up machines and devices to prepare investigations as indicated.
  • Create and maintain manufacturing documentation and quality plans according to company standards (including process flow diagrams, PQIs, process control documentation, standard work instructions, etc).
  • Identifies and resolves quality issues related to automated equipment.
  • Mentors hourly skilled associates in proactive maintenance of assigned processes, including development of qualification cards and other training material.
  • Identify and lead projects to improve safety, cost, quality, delivery, and utilization of manufacturing processes in order to meet Policy Deployment objectives.
  • Actively participate in daily management of area using MES and other analytics/data to meet targets and derive measures to continuously improve performance.
Qualifications
  • BS in Engineering (Controls, Automation,Electrical, or Mechanical) and 3+ years technical experience.
  • Hands-on experience with highly automated equipment technologies- such as CNC machines and High Pressure Deburr, robots (Kuka, Staubly), automated axis systems, vision systems, and feeding systems.
  • Mechanical and electrical hardware design/upgrade experience.
  • Experience with data analytics tools (PowerBI, Tableau, etc)
  • Working knowledge of relational databases (MySQL, Microsoft SQL, Oracle) and IT concepts (VMs, networking)
  • Experience in high volume/technology manufacturing processes within the automotive industry preferred.
  • Ability to read and define electric drawings, pneumatic and/or hydraulic plans.
  • Project leadership skills and the ability to prioritize workload to meet established targets.
  • Ability to work on cross-functional teams with a high degree of self-initiative.
  • Experience utilizing problem solving techniques to solve complex manufacturing issues (Six Sigma, Shainin, 5 whys).
  • Ability to travel (including internationally) for training, projects, and IPN activities.
