Job summary

Bosch Charleston is seeking a Vision Engineer to lead and optimize our machine vision systems across manufacturing lines in Charleston, SC. You will supervise daily vision operations, validate inspection performance, and drive improvements using PPAP, PFMEA, and SPC.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure systems meet safety, quality, and regulatory requirements while supporting new product introductions and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related technical field (Manufacturing/Engineering).
• Experience in manufacturing with machine vision, automation, or inspection systems.
• Knowledge of PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, SPC, and validation processes.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills (Root Cause Analysis, 8D).
• Experience leading equipment implementation and production launch activities.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and specs.

Responsibilities

• Lead vision system performance to meet business targets (inspection capability, system availability, quality, defect detection).
• Manage and sustain daily vision operations; validate inspection performance and support PPAP/MSA activities.
• Develop and optimize machine vision solutions (cameras, lighting, sensors, software, automation).
• Lead vision activities for new product launches and project development from concept to production launch.
• Create, maintain, and standardize technical docs and quality systems (work instructions, PFMEA, validation protocols).
• Drive continuous improvement (safety, quality, delivery, cost) using vision tech, Lean, and Bosch Production System.
