Job summary

3 Forks Services, a North Dakota-based contractor, seeks a hands-on Controller to lead daily accounting operations. You will supervise the accounts payable and billing team, manage the monthly close, and ensure accurate financial reporting and job costing in a fast-paced setting.

Reporting to the CFO, the Controller will drive process improvements, maintain internal controls, and partner with project managers to track costs and profitability, while ensuring timely invoicing and cash flow.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of progressively responsible accounting experience including monthly close and financial reporting.
• Experience supervising accounting staff.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily accounting operations and supervise accounts payable and billing staff.
• Manage the monthly and annual close, including journal entries, Reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Oversee job costing and work in progress reporting, including cost allocations and coordination with project managers.
• Ensure customer billing is accurate, complete, and timely, including contract billing and change orders.
• Assist with payroll preparation and payroll-related record-keeping.
• Support cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis.
• Maintain internal controls and document accounting procedures.
