Job summary

Fortune Electrical Construction is seeking an experienced, hands-on Controller to lead the company’s accounting and financial reporting functions at our Fort Myers, Florida location. This role requires deep construction accounting experience, including progress billing and WIP analysis, working closely with CFO, project management, operations, and the corporate finance team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, in a Controller/Accounting Manager role.
• Direct experience with progress-billed construction accounting is required.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day accounting operations and monthly/quarterly/year-end close.
• Prepare financial statements, management reports, and schedules.
• Maintain detailed job cost accounting for active projects and progress billing.
• Oversee WIP reporting, revenue recognition, and project forecasts.
• Coordinate with PMs and operations to ensure accurate cost projections and billing.
