Job summary

The Hiring Method, LLC seeks a Division Controller to lead accounting and financial operations for a key construction division in Englewood, CO. This hands-on leadership role oversees month-end close, GL, cash management, budgeting, and internal controls, while partnering with operations and executive leadership.

The ideal candidate has construction industry accounting experience, the ability to translate financial results into actionable insights, and strong leadership to develop the accounting

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Construction industry accounting experience is required.
• Experience with general ledger, month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead the division’s month-end close and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting.
• Oversee general ledger accounting, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and schedules.
• Partner with operations and leadership to analyze financial performance and project profitability.
• Analyze variances against budgets and forecasts and provide actionable insights.
• Support construction-related financial reporting and ensure project activity is reflected in division results.
• Manage cash flow, cash forecasting, and treasury activities for the division.
• Strengthen accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting accuracy.
• Support annual audits, tax preparation, and implementation of new accounting standards.
• Develop and improve management reporting for operational visibility.
• Lead, mentor, and develop Senior and Staff Accountants.
