Job summary

Capital Power is seeking a Control Room Operator at the Harquahala facility to lead a three-person team on a 12-hour rotating shift. You will oversee the safe and efficient operation of a 1,092MW combined-cycle power plant from the Control Room, coordinating with the Power Block and Water Treatment teams.

The ideal candidate has power-plant operation experience, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to train junior staff while complying with safety and environmental rules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; technical training preferred.
• Power plant operator experience desired.
• Water chemistry knowledge beneficial.
• Experience with turbines and process control is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe operation of all plant equipment on a 12-hour shift.
• Monitor parameters, review rounds, and verify operating conditions.
• Direct operation of plant equipment through Control Room leadership.
• Assist with junior operator training and safety procedures.
