Job summary

Layton Construction seeks a Senior Superintendent for a Hawaii project in Kihei to oversee daily site operations, scheduling, procurement of materials, manpower, and equipment. This role supervises direct labor and contracted work to ensure timely, within-budget completion.

The candidate will coordinate with the Project Manager, develop look-ahead schedules, and manage pre-construction activities. Strong leadership, communication, and cost-control skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Studies specifications to plan procedures and staffing for each phase.
• Interacts with Project Manager to determine project schedule and look-ahead schedules.
• Coordinates pre-construction meeting with Project Manager prior to mobilization.
• Directs procurement of tools and materials to align with work schedules.
• Keeps all parties informed of progress and construction issues; coordinates with subs and clients.
• Manages labor costs by optimizing crew mixes and assignments; may terminate underperforming personnel.
• Prepares and maintains Project Management Plan with Project Manager.
• Ensures safety, quality, and housekeeping standards are followed.
