Job summary

BELFOR is seeking a Project Manager to lead construction and restoration initiatives in our Grand Rapids area operations. You will plan, coordinate, and supervise crews and subcontractors across multiple projects, ensuring safety, quality, and on-budget delivery.

The role requires solid PM fundamentals, blueprints literacy, vendor qualification, and daily collaboration with Estimators to adjust timelines and resources. Expect occasional after-hours work and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Assist other PMs and Senior PMs, volunteer for CAT duties as possible
• Advance knowledge of Restorations (Construction Track) and building codes/regulations
• Serve as role models for Superintendents
• Sell and upgrade additional services on assigned project
• Communicate daily with Estimators on status, timelines, or issues
• Continually improve core project management skills
• Complete projects on time and on budget with documented customer satisfaction
• Construction focus: plan, coordinate, oversee employees and subcontractors in all phases of work
• Read and manage blueprints
• Responsible for projects exceeding $1M
• Understand and adhere to local building codes and regulatory agencies
• Restoration focus: direct small crews and temporary workers on projects exceeding $1M
• Attend approved training courses in areas of lesser experience
• Manage large crews and projects through crew leaders and assistants
• Manage and document rate and material projects and work with PMs/Estimators in restoration plans
• Supervise multiple crews simultaneously on multiple projects

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate thorough understanding of BELFOR service lines
• Understand scope, schedule work, communicate professionally, ensure project safety, and maintain quality control
• Develop core PM capabilities: time management, budgeting, scheduling, site supervision, customer contact, communication, quality control, safety, documentation, and change orders
• Advance knowledge of current and past construction practices
• Review daily project requirements, document progress, and notify managers of progress and challenges
• Provide field documentation, photo logs, graphs and sketches for various projects
• Capable of performing skills related to prior Advanced Fire Damage and Advanced Water Damage Specialist roles
• Qualify vendors and subcontractors through vendor qualification processes
• Manage fixed bid and rate/material projects
• Understand BELFOR invoicing and provide necessary documentation
• Perform daily vehicle safety and maintenance inspections
• Maintain attention to detail and safeguard others' property
• Understand customer service principles and practices
• Work under time constraints to meet timelines
• Occasional night/weekend work and travel may be required
• Report time worked and equipment/ consumables used timely
• Attend BELFOR safety training courses as required
• Attend training to enhance lesser-experienced areas
• Lead large crews and projects via crew leaders and assistants
• Develop restoration plans with PMs/Estimators and manage rate/material projects
• Supervise multiple crews on several projects
