Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Construction Quality Manager II to lead the quality control program on large, multi-phase projects including heavy civil and federal work under USACE or NAVFAC requirements. You will supervise field inspectors, write the QC plan, and oversee three-phase control meetings with the owner’s QA rep.

Your weekly work centers on definable features of work, coordinating testing and NCR resolutions, and maintaining documentation.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in construction QC or special inspection, including 2+ years supervising inspectors.
• USACE CQM-C certificate plus ICC special inspector or NICET Level III certification.
• Experience on USACE, NAVFAC, DOT, or industrial owner quality programs.
• Writes clearly and holds the line in a room of superintendents and owner representatives.

Responsibilities

• Write and maintain the project quality control plan and get it accepted by the owner or agency.
• Lead preparatory, initial, and follow-up phase meetings for every definable feature of work.
• Supervise QC inspectors and testing technicians; assign daily coverage and review their reports.
• Run the nonconformance and corrective-action process and present it in owner QA/QC meetings.
• Coordinate laboratory testing, mix design approvals, and material certifications across subcontractors.
