Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Construction Quality Manager II to lead the quality control program on large or multi-phase projects, including heavy civil, industrial, or federal work under USACE or NAVFAC requirements. You will oversee field inspectors and technicians and own the project QC plan.

Your weekly routine centers on feature-based planning, owner coordination, and data-driven NCR resolution, ensuring audits pass and reports are complete and defensible.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in construction quality control or special inspection.
• At least 2 years supervising inspectors.
• Certified by USACE CQM-C and ICC/NICET credentials.
• Experience on USACE, NAVFAC, DOT, or industrial owner programs.
• Strong written communication under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Write and maintain the project quality control plan and obtain owner acceptance.
• Lead preparatory, initial, and follow-up phase meetings for features of work.
• Supervise QC inspectors and testing technicians.
• Assign daily coverage and review inspector reports.
• Manage nonconformance and corrective-action process with owner QA/QC meetings.
• Coordinate laboratory testing, mix design approvals, and material certifications.
