Job summary

ECS Group of Companies in Lawrenceville, GA is seeking a certified Construction Materials Testing Senior Field Technician to join our Lawrenceville team. You will perform observation, testing, sampling, and inspection of soils, aggregates, concrete, and related materials on construction sites.

The role emphasizes safety, data collection, and reporting, with training provided. A HS diploma and multiple certifications are required, plus a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of related experience.
• High School diploma or GED.
• Must have and be willing to maintain current basic level certifications and an additional 2 advanced certifications.
• OSHA 10 is a plus.
• Position requires carrying 40 - 70 lbs multiple times a day or occasionally lifting 85 lbs to waist height.
• Must have valid driver's license and insurance.
• Must provide suitable transportation for use on job sites - Mileage will be reimbursed.
• Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing).
• Excellent understanding of heavy construction safety, practices, and procedures.
• Ability to work effectively with clients, peers, and supervisors.
• Proficiency with electronic devices such as phones, tablets, and laptops.
• Strong math skills with the ability to read maps, follow directions, and interpret engineering and construction plans.
• Basic knowledge of MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Field Activities: Observe, test, sample, and inspect materials (soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, structural steel) on sites.
• Testing Procedures: Conduct routine field tests following industry standards.
• Data Collection: Perform calculations and document site observations in field reports.
• Communication: Maintain daily communication with contractors, technicians, and project managers.
• Training and Development: Receive training in ECS methodology and document findings precisely.
