Job summary

ECS Group of Companies in Wilmington, NC is seeking a Construction Materials Testing Senior Field Technician I to join our field services team. You will perform field observation, testing, sampling and inspection of soils, aggregates, concrete, masonry, asphalt and related materials under supervision.

As you gain experience, ECS offers development opportunities and certifications through ACI, ASNT, ICC, NICET, NRCA, and others.

Qualifications

2 years of related field experience.
High school diploma or GED required.
Two advanced certifications plus basic ECS Technician Certification Policy.
General OSHA 10 may be required.
Valid driver’s license if driving for ECS.

Responsibilities

Performs field observation, testing, sampling, and inspection of soils, aggregates, concrete, masonry, asphalt, structural steel, and related materials.
Executes testing activities on projects of moderate complexity with minimal supervision.
Communicates daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers.
Reports changing site conditions and additional testing needs to supervisors.
Prepares accurate and detailed daily field reports documenting site conditions and results.
Performs calculations, data reduction, and documentation tasks.
Maintains and organizes field equipment and testing materials.
Assists in resolving field-related issues and supports project execution.
Trains and mentors Technician I and Technician II staff in field procedures and documentation.
Participates in project meetings with senior staff as requested.
Performs other field and project support duties as assigned.
