Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Construction Manager in Houston, TX to provide senior leadership on major construction programs within the Power and Energy team. You will guide project execution, manage field delivery, and ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

The role requires a bachelor’s in construction management and 12+ years of experience, with expertise in construction delivery methods, risk management, and contract administration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or closely related discipline.
• 12+ years of post‑education experience in construction management or related areas.
• Subject matter expert in construction delivery methods, phasing strategies, and technical field operations.
• Experience leading large, complex construction programs in public and private sectors.
• Experience advising on strategic project risks, logistics constraints, and contract compliance.
• Knowledge of construction laws, codes, regulations, and safety requirements.
• Ability to interpret complex contract documents, scopes, specs, and project controls data.
• Experience resolving high‑stakes disputes and supporting litigation or claim strategies.
• Proficiency with advanced construction management tools and platforms.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-level technical leadership and strategic oversight on major construction programs.
• Guide complex project execution, resolve field challenges, and advise on delivery strategies.
• Mentor senior professionals and lead the advancement of best practices in construction oversight.
• Oversee field execution strategies for high-value projects and ensure alignment with baselines.
• Direct project teams in execution plans, logistics, and constructability solutions.
• Evaluate and approve submittals, change documents, and value engineering proposals.
• Lead stakeholder coordination across contractors, agencies, design teams, and clients.
