Job summary

City of Fort Worth is hiring a Construction Inspector I to supervise and participate in inspections of utility installation projects, material testing, and paving restoration to ensure conformance with City standards and policies. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and eager to learn.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license. Preferred experience includes interpreting franchise utility plans, paving restoration, HDD, and familiarity

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
Valid driver’s license required.
Experience interpreting plans for utility construction preferred.
Experience with paving restoration, HMAC and concrete preferred.
Experience with Directional Drilling (HDD) preferred.
Proficiency with Accela, CRM, and MS Office applications preferred.

Responsibilities

Inspect product installation and final restoration in utility projects for conformance with City standards.
Liaise between contractors, utilities, and the public regarding construction projects.
Review plans and traffic control prior to inspection.
Prepare daily inspection route lists.
Enter inspections in Accela and non-inspection activities in CRM.
Oversee progress and finalize projects upon completion.
Coordinate inspection activities with other City departments.
Perform routine and final inspections on utility construction projects.
