Job summary

Burgess & Niple is seeking a Senior Construction Inspector to lead QA on our most complex infrastructure projects, including roadways, bridges, signals, utilities, drainage, and earthworks. You will mentor inspection teams, manage critical documentation, and collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to deliver high‑quality outcomes that improve communities.

We require 8+ years of construction experience, INDOT certification readiness within the first year, and proficiency

Qualifications

• 8+ years of construction related experience.
• Ability to obtain all INDOT Certified Technician Courses in first year of employment.
• Experience in construction management or construction inspection of roadway, bridges, drainage, and/or grading.
• INDOT SiteManager, AWP and Microsoft Office Suite proficiency.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record and able to travel within the region, required.
• Ability to work in inclement weather, work on a construction site, be exposed to heavy construction equipment, and walking.
• Adaptable and self-motivated with an entrepreneurial mindset as well as a proactive approach to problem solving.
• Servant leader committed to fostering collaboration, innovation, and excellence while developing others.

Responsibilities

• Monitor contractor work for quality control and contract compliance for roadway, structure, and bridge construction.
• Monitor contractor operations to ensure compliance with contract terms and specifications.
• Provide general inspection on construction labor and subcontracted tasks.
• Provide reports of assigned work activities, contractor labor and equipment, and quantity of materials received.
• Ensure construction methods and procedures are followed and that materials meet project specifications.
• Perform on-site material testing and verification.
• Calibrate and maintain testing equipment.
• Create and compile close out / final construction records documents for submission.
• Assist in the documentation of as-built record drawings.
• Assist in writing technical reports summarizing inspection findings.
• Assist in the preparation of change orders, progress estimates, weekly reports and other associated documents for projects.
