Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Commitment to obtaining all required INDOT Certified Technician certifications within the first year of employment.
• 0–2 years of experience in construction, construction inspection, or a related field; internship or vocational experience welcome.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record and ability to travel within the region required.
• Ability to work in inclement weather, work on a construction site, be exposed to heavy construction equipment, and walking.
• Adaptable and self-motivated with an entrepreneurial mindset as well as a proactive approach to problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Monitor work of contractors to ensure quality control and contract compliance for roadway, structure, and bridge construction
• Monitor contractor operations to ensure compliance with contract terms and specifications
• Provide general inspection on construction labor and subcontracted tasks
• Provide reports on assigned work activities, contractor labor and equipment, and quantity of materials received
• Perform on-site material testing and verification
• Calibrate and maintain testing equipment
• Create and compile close out / final construction records documents for submission
