Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Willingness to obtain INDOT Certified Technician certifications within the first year.
• 0–2 years in construction, inspection or related field; internship welcome.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Valid driver’s license with ability to travel regionally.
• Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather near construction sites.
• Entrepreneurial, proactive problem-solving mindset.

Responsibilities

• Monitor contractor work to ensure quality control and contract compliance.
• Monitor contractor operations to ensure terms and specifications are met.
• Provide general inspection on construction labor and subcontracted tasks.
• Prepare reports on activities, contractor labor/equipment, and materials received.
• Perform on-site material testing and verification.
• Calibrate and maintain testing equipment.
• Create and compile close out/final construction records documents.

What You'll Do

• Monitor work of contractors to ensure quality control and contract compliance for roadway, structure, and bridge construction
• Monitor contractor operations to ensure compliance with contract terms and specifications
• Provide general inspection on construction labor and subcontracted tasks
• Provide reports on assigned work activities, contractor labor and equipment, and quantity of materials received
• Perform on-site material testing and verification
• Calibrate and maintain testing equipment
• Create and compile close out / final construction records documents for submission

Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent GED, required
• Commitment to obtaining all required INDOT Certified Technician certifications within the first year of employment
• 0 – 2 years of experience in construction, construction inspection, or a related field; internship or vocational experience welcome
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record and ability to travel within the region required
• Ability to work in inclement weather, work on a construction site, be exposed to heavy construction equipment, and walking
• Adaptable and self-motivated with an entrepreneurial mindset as well as a proactive approach to problem solving
