Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BS in Construction Management or Civil Engineering.
• Ability to obtain INDOT Certified Technician Courses in year one if no engineering degree.
• 0–2 years of construction-related experience.
• Able to work in inclement weather on a construction site with heavy equipment.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record; able to travel regionally.
• Entrepreneurial, proactive problem-solver mindset.

Responsibilities

• Monitor contractor work to ensure quality control and contract compliance on road, structure and bridge construction.
• Monitor contractor operations to ensure contract terms and specifications are met.
• Provide general inspection of construction labor and subcontracted tasks.
• Prepare reports on activities, contractor labor, equipment, and materials received.
• Ensure construction methods and materials meet project specifications.
• Perform on-site material testing and verification.
• Calibrate and maintain testing equipment.
• Create and compile close-out or final construction records for submission.
